ABOUT THE WORKS

I witnessed the Nazi blitz over Warsaw, Poland, when I was 4 years old.

For years I struggled how to express my memories in painting.

I finally settled on a combination of painting and constructions in an attempt to convey my memories.

“The Prophet Warns, No one listens”
Comes from my memory of my mother pleading with our relatives to leave Poland and go to Russia with us. They refused. They all perished in the Warsaw Ghetto.

“War”
It wasn’t until I finished the painting that I realized the planes looked like flying swastikas.

“Disturbed Still Life”
The objects in my still life are breaking apart, like my world, when WWII broke out.
